It’s National Watermelon Day! Watermelon is one of the most popular fruits among consumers nationwide and is grown throughout the United States. Since watermelon plants love the heat and need a long growing season, four states — Texas, Florida, Georgia and California — produce nearly three-quarters of all watermelon sold in grocery stores nationwide.
